Assistance with HearingFirst Presbyterian Church has recently installed an induction loop assistive listening system in the Sanctuary for those who have difficulty hearing. Special wiring encircles the sanctuary, transmitting a magnetic signal which serves as a special amplifier. Persons wearing hearing aids with a “T” (telephone) switch can hear the worship service audio transmitted directly through their hearing aids simply by flipping the “T” switch. Most new models of hearing aids have the “T” switch necessary to take advantage of this amplification system, as do nearly all the behind-the-ear aids. Individual listening devices are also available for those who need hearing assistance but do not have the “T” switch – just ask an usher. Additionally, a member skilled in the system is available to meet with interested persons by appointment. Contact the Church Office for a referral.
